    Overview

The Nokia 9210 Communicator consists of two parts: the phone and the Communicator inerface. The phone is accessed from the device cover and the Communicator interface from the inside cover. Both these parts use the same information from the memory inside Communicator and are not seperate devices.

The Communicator interface contains many organiser and communication applications, and the keyboard is used to make accessing these features easier. While the phone interface is designed for quickly making calls and accessing the phone book etc. and looks like most other Nokia phone interfaces.

The Communicator interface uses a large colour display and the software looks similiar to windows with a desktop, icons and menus for accessing the features of the Communicator. The display is not touch sensitive so the software is operated using the keyboard and option buttons which run down the side of the display.

The features and applications offered by the Communicator include telephone which is used to make conference calls through the communicator interface, manage advanced phone settings and define profiles. The messaging applications is used to read, edit and send e-mail and SMS messages. Internet contains two applications called WWW and WAP. WWW is used to access the Internet and WAP is used to access the Wireless Application Protocol network. The contacts application is used to manage contacts and their details. The office application is a suite of programs including a word processor, spead sheet application, presentation viewer and file manager. Also included are smaller applications and utilities which are grouped under "Extras".

Externally the Communicator has several ports and interfaces which are used to connect the Communicator to a PC for syncronisation of data, recharge the Communicators battery and wirelessly connect to other mobile devices.
